Application Process

Students submit an application form, application fee, copy of passport /birth certificate, recent 2-year official transcripts, and recommendation letter through the online application portal for evaluation. All applications must be submitted through the online portal and submit hard copies at our office.

Successful applicants receive a Conditional Offer of Acceptance (COA). Students pay tuition fees and submit original documents.

Successful applicants receive an Official Letter of Acceptance (OLA) (and apply for a Study Permit and Visa to Canada as applicable).

Students report to the school in Canada with a passport, study permit, newcomer profile, and other missing documents. Medical insurance coverage shall be activated upon registration. Placement decisions are based on evaluating students’ academic standing and space availability at the requested TDSB schools. At any time during the application process, the International Students and Admissions Office may request verification of submitted documents and the information contained therein. International students are not eligible to apply for specialized programs (e.g., Special Education, French Immersion, the International Baccalaureate Program, and regional arts and sports programs). All regular-track, in-school programs are open to them. The Official Letter of Acceptance (OLA) is an agreement between the TDSD and the student families. The TDSB is committed to delivering the programs to all accepted students as this official document prescribes. Suppose a student chooses to defer the enrollment to the subsequent semester or school year for personal reasons AFTER the OLA is issued. In that case, the International Students and Admissions Office reserves the right to grant or reject the deferral request upon reviewing our space availability and verifying the information provided by the student.

Application Timelines

September Intake: December 1 – May 1

February Intake: August 1 – November 1

The exact timelines will be followed for deferrals. For instance, if a student requests to defer from the September intake to the February intake, our office will start processing these requests on August 1. The deferral requests from the February and September intake will be processed after December 1.
